Our donkeys: Bella and Bobtail

We currently have two donkeys at the sanctuary. They arrived summer 2005. They are mother and son and have lived together all their lives. We will never change this. We feel it is important to keep animals together when they have formed strong bonds.


Bella-Moon and Bobtail: Arrived summer 2005 after owner passed away.

Bobtail is Bella's son. He is approximately 14-15 years old. He is very loving but can be a bit grumpy. He loves having cuddles and being groomed but also likes to have his own space from time to time. Bobtail is very protective over his mother. When in the field with the two horses he will always make sure his mother is safe and gets plenty of food.
Bella is approx 19 yrs and is very calm and loving.

Both these donkeys were rescued because their owner passed away.
