This is spot, a 4 year old Shetland Pony. He came to us as a stallion. He had very bad behaviour problems, biting and kicking everyone. We are pleased to say, he has made a wonderful turn around and is now a lovely little pony.
Spot (named by the Sanctuary founder) was abandoned by his 'owner' who won him in a drunken bet. When the man realised he won a stallion pony, he turned him out on to the streets. He found his way to a stables a matter of weeks later and the family stabled him desperate to reunite him with his owners. Little did they know, he was homeless and unwanted.
The police investigated the situation and declared him 'abandoned'. The police did not find the people involved and closed the case so the people are free to keep on doing this over and over again.
SF sanctuary recieved the angry little pony the next day. He was in fair condition but obviously had a very sad soul with many tales to tell.
We do not know exactly what happened to him, but for his previous keeper to give him away in a bet, we can only conclude he has thanked his lucky stars he ended up here at the sanctuary.
If you could give this sweet little gelding some love and attention then please e-mail Rochelle: adopt-me@hotmail.co.uk
Maisy: Chicken, approx 1yr old. Quite shy and timid. Would appreciate living free range with smaller chickens.
Maisy: Female pony. Approx 10yrs old.
Maisy is a lovely pony. She arrived here four weeks ago. She would not let us near her and kicked out at us if we did try.
Now only four weeks later, she is doing really well. She does not kick and is getting much better with contact.
If you are looking for a pony and you can offer Maisy the time she needs then please do not hessitate to get in contact.
Will: Handsome cockerel. Lovely crow, not too loud. Approx 1yrs old, friendly towards humans. Very clean bird.
