Rescued Animals

Stubbs: Stray horse (Rescued and re-homed)

A beautiful bay mare that arrived at the sanctuary in an appalling state. She was weak, thin and unbeknown to us, she was heavily pregnant. This poor mare was wandering the streets in late winter with no warmth or food. We received the call and collected her without a doubt.

Two months later after some nutritional food, medication and a warm rug, ‘Stubbs’ gave birth to foal in early spring. We named him ‘Storm’ as it had been raining constantly for a week.

We are happy to announce that after an eventful five months, we have managed to find a home where mare and foal can live together. They have settled in very well and hope their life continues to get better and better.

Porsche the rabbit arrived in 2007 with a chronic illness. She had been abandoned. A kind lady brought her to the sanctuary where we had he checked by the vets. After treatment the vet said it would be unlikely if she made it through the week.
Porsche died peacefully in her sleep this September. She spent many happy days here running free and lasted nearly two years longer than expected.
She was approx 5yrs old when she died.
